A Forgoten Favorite!

I love YouTube. Once in a while, I'll remember that YouTube exists and then I'll stay up for hours watching old comercials for Mr. T Cereal from the Saturday morning cartoon era. I think the last time I was on there, I watched a bunch of clips from my all time favorite cartoon....The Super Friends!

This video, while not Super Friend related, is still one of my favorites of all time! I was up late playing around on You Tube and I came across it again. I haven't seen it in a while and I was so excited to be reminded of this unique video. This is a Mark Ronson VERSION of a Radiohead song called "Just".

A TechTV Wedding in San Francisco

This coming weekend we will have the honor of shooting the wedding of my good friends Lindsey Kamen and Aaron Rosenzweig. Lindsey, Aaron and I met a few years ago when we all worked together at Tech TV. Well, after a few years, Tech TV was bought by G4 and moved to LA.

Lindsey and Aaron then moved to Boston, and I started First Floor Films in San Francisco.

Lindsey and Aaron are coming back to San Francisco this weekend for their wedding and I can't wait to see them. They have such a cool day planned. First they will be having their ceremony outdoors in Washington Square park. Then Their reception is being held across Columbus Avenue at the world famous Bimbos 365 Club! I can't wait. I've been dying to shoot at Bimbos since I first started First Floor Films.

Now, Lindsey's good friend and bridesmaid is Maria Merion. You may recognize her in the image from our logo at the top of the blog. Lindsey actually recomended me to Maria when she was looking for a videographer for her own wedding in 2004. Maria and Paul's wedding ceremony was held just off Washington Square Park at St. Peter & Paul's Church which is pictured in the background of the image here.

So, things have come full circle, we are back shooting at St. Peter & Paul's Church. Only, this time we will be shooting in front of the church and Lindsey and Maria will be trading places as bride and bridesmaid.

The following clip is the pre-ceremony section of Maria and Paul's wedding video from October of 2004. Lindsey is seen throughout the video and if you look closely near the end, Lindsey almost kisses the screen! Ok, I am really looking forward to reuniting with old friends and clients to shoot a spectacular wedding and reception this coming weekend. Stay tuned for the stories to follow. I'm sure there wil be quite a few.

Video Coding for the Web and a San Francisco Wedding

Spring is finally in full swing!

I also caught a picture of this little guy last night on the deck.

I have been spending much time over the past few days researching different blogs to get an idea of what these things are really all about. I have seen some great ones including one of my favorite photographers Gene Higa's Blog and the very inspirational blog of Me Ra Koh who is another incredible photographer. I haven't had the privilege of working with Me Ra yet as I have with Gene. But her Blog is full of information for brides, photographers, brides looking for photographers, parents, bloggers and....well you get the point. She just has a ton of great information up there for all!

As Stephen Colbert would do, I must give a “Tip of the Hat” to the video sharing community as well. Anyone looking to share video either on their blog or website or just between family and friends will do well to check out these sites:

Video Egg is the easiest video upload site I have seen in this past week of Research. You just drag and drop your high quality movie file onto their page and they do the rest for you. They also have a nice blog with one of the coolest names around.

Then there is Blip.tv. They let you upload very easily and then give you (the viewer/user) the ability to choose how to view the video either Quicktime or Flash video. I use Blip.tv to host some videos that I will post to this blog in the coming days.

Finally, there is freevideocoding.com with their 3 step, idiot-proof video coding page. I must admit though that it took me a long time to figure out how to post my videos using freevideocoding.com. Because I simply could not figure out where to host my video. But that is not unlike me. I can find the idiots way through any idiot proofing!!

I'm excited for the wedding we have coming up next week in San Francisco. The wedding will be taking place at The University Club. There is a cool little 360 virtual tour of the University Club you can take Here.
