The Mummers Crash the Party!

Therese & Ryan were married this Past Saturday.  Their celebration at Cairnwood was pretty unique.  Midway through the reception the Mummers showed Up!  Therese and Ryan had a close connection in this particular Mummers String Band (The Avalon String Band, I believe) as Therese's brother, Mark is one of the sax players in the band.  The Mummers marched and played their way onto the dance floor where they stayed and played for a few numbers....as Mummers are known to do.

This is a quick clip I put up because I was just so impressed with the appearance by the Mummers on Saturday.  *NOTE* This clip is unedited and is straight out of the camera.  Like I said, I just wanted to post a quick clip of the fun that we all had at Therese & Ryan's wedding this weekend.

Another fun note: Therese & Ryan had an original photo booth at Cairnwood for their guests to take photos in all night long!  This was the real deal.  No digital photo booth posing as a real photo booth.  This one actually processed the photos in developing chemicals!  Yelana Sverdlova of Classic Photo Booth was on site running the photo show all night.  Ryan Estes and I couldn't resist an opportunity to take a moment to goof off in the photo booth.  Thanks for a fun night Therese & Ryan.  Congratulations!

T.J. & Jeff | Super-8 Trailer

T.J. and Jeff were married this past July at The Valley Green Inn in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park. Jenn Childress and I rode with T.J. and Jeff in a horse drawn carriage along the Wissahickon Creek as we made our way through the Park towards the Valley Green Inn for their wedding and reception.
This is a brief trailer I put together with some of the Super-8 film footage shot throughout the morning and along our ride through the park. Thanks for having us T.J & Jeff. Congratulations! Enjoy your trailer.....much, much more to come.

Katie & Shaun 11.1.08

Jenn Childress and I have shot several wedding together this year. Jenn always seems to have couples who are so easy going and just.....fun. But the wedding that we shot together last weekend was really a blast! We spent Saturday with Katie & Shaun as they celebrated their wedding at Pen Ryn Mansion in Bensalem, PA. There were several times during the formal photo session that we all agreed....we were having A LOT of fun! Thanks for having me along Jenn.  And congratulations Katie & Shaun!

Pre-Ceremony | Annalyn & Ron

Annalyn & Ron were married in San Francisco in May of 2005.  Their wedding was one of our very first, as 2005 was the first full year of First Floor Films' existence.  Why is their video now on the blog?  Well.....because back in 2005 before we knew better, we were labeling our final DVDs with stick on CD labels.  They looked great! But, over the course a few years and, happily in Annalyn's case, after watching her DVDs over and over and over.....the stick on labels began to warp the actual DVDs, rendering them unreadable by most DVD players. 
So, Annalyn has not been able to watch her cherished wedding video for over a year!  I am currently re-printing some DVDs for Annalyn & Ron with printable faces (non-stick labels) and in the meantime I wanted to post a clip for Annalyn, Ron and their familes to watch as they haven't been able to see their video in quite sometime.  Your DVDs are almost done Annalyn.  You will have your wedding video back very shortly! But, here is a little teaser for you and your family all around the world!

I was watching this at the gym tonight and I too got choked up.  Red or Blue, Obama or McCain....the events of last night were truly incredible.  What a proud and amazing time to be a part of.

Gina & Bernie 10.25.08

Our good friends Gina and Bernie were married last Saturday at The Pearl S. Buck House in Perkasie, PA.  Their wedding was a First Floor Films family affair as I took over photography duties while Dawn and my dad made up the video team.  The next day Dawn and I dropped the newlyweds off at the airport as they left for a Mexican honeymoon.  When they returned last night, I promptly escorted them back home in the exclusive and luxurious First Floor Films honeymoon limo (Dawn's Honda CRV) .  Hmmmm.......this may become a brand new featured "deluxe" service for our select couples!!  Photo, video and limo! What do you think?
 
Back to the wedding.  As many will remember, last Saturday was sorta wet.  OK, OK....it was actually a torrential downpour all day long!  But, that didn't stop the Phillies from winning game 4 that night and it wasn't going to stop Gina and Bernie from pushing on with their wedding.  We just moved everything under the big tent!  Gina & Bernie's ceremony was originally scheduled to be held outside at sunset.  Yes, this would have made for a very romantic setting.  But, what happened instead was even better (in my opinion).
The ceremony took place on the reception dancefloor while all the guests sat, not in rows and aisles but, at their dinner tables.  This made for a very unique setting.  As the officiant declared Gina & Bernie "Husband and Wife" the tent absolutely exploded with cheers and applause.  I have never heard anything so loud and boisterous during a wedding ceremony.  It was really pretty spectacular!    OK, on to the photos....
