Fun & Photos at Wieblab #2

I spent the majority of last week commuting back and forth to Lancaster to attend Wieblab #2 at the photo studio of Joel and Rita Wiebner. Joel and Rita opened their studio and their brains to 4 photographers (myself included) for 3 days of intensive photography workshopping.
To say that I LOVED this workshop and the Wiebners themselves would be a huge understatement. We all had such a great time with each other. We laughed, we talked shop, we ate (WELL) and we learned a ton. Joel and Rita are probably the nicest most sincere couple that you will ever meet. I am so thankful to them both (and Kingston) for having and teaching us last week. As I told Rita in an e-mail....Wieblab #2 was one of the most enjoyable and positive experiences of my life! Thank you very much you guys.

Married | Stacey & Dave

Stacey & Dave were married this past Saturday at the gorgeous Church of the Messiah in Gwynedd, PA. You may recognize Stacey as she appears in her sister Lauren's wedding video clip in the post below this one. Or you may recognize Stacey if you know one of her sisters as she, Lauren and Mariel are identical triplets!
After shooting Lauren and Joe's wedding last December and recently editing their video, I felt right at home on Stacey and Dave's wedding day. It felt as though I was just spending time with the very family that I was "virtually" working with all week long! Jenn Childress joined me for an assist on this wedding and I am very grateful for all her help. Check out her view of the day here.

So, she must have been an automatic choice for flower girl this time around too. Here she is enjoying some time with her mom.

I gotta tell you....I feel kinda like part of the family now myself.

Pre-Ceremony | Lauren & Joe

Lauren & Joe were married last December. They had a Christmas themed wedding as Christmas is Lauren's favorite time of the year. A beautiful early evening ceremony was followed by a classy yet very energized and fun reception at Rivercrest Golf Club in Oaks, PA.
The following clip is the pre-ceremony section of their video. After editing to Christmas music all week long I am now humming holiday tunes in my sleep. I have been thrust into the Christmas mood even though it isn't even Halloween yet. My holiday clock is all out of whack!!

I'm sure that this wedding video clip has been passed around over all the internets. But I just couldn't resist sharing it as well. Watch and laugh....then maybe feel bad....then laugh again. But, most of all, enjoy!!

Dawn's Last game

Tonight is Dawn's last field hockey game of the season.  Her Truman Tigers made some big improvements from last season and the girls will finish out a hard fought and successful season tonight at home.  As always, I will be there shooting!

Dawn and I have barely even seen each other since our honeymoon in July (photos are coming soon....I promise Baby).  She teaches and coaches all week long, and I am out shooting weddings all weekend long.  So we sometimes get to say hello and goodbye to each other as we pass in the house.  But, hopefully as my wedding season winds down and her nights will now be freed up a bit, we will get to see just a bit more of each other!

Family Photos....Jenn Childress & The Richters

Just a quick post before the weekend weddings are here! The other day, Jenn Childress and I were scouting out a future wedding location. At the end of the day Jenn remembered that we have been trying for months to make some time to take a few informal family photos of her, Jesse, the kids and the dogs. So, what better time than NOW?! Belive it or not this simple, relaxed family portrait took months to organize but in the end took about 5 minutes to pull off. All about finding the time.

Fun with a Fish Eye

Wedding photographer Jenn Childress and I have known each other for years and years. We often photograph weddings together in the Philadelphia area. After one of our recent shoots she gave me a Sigma Fisheye Lens. These lenses are super wide and can yield some funky, slightly distorted results when used up close. I was playing around with my new toy while visiting my Mom-Mom the other day. Here are some early results!
